I've seen an excelent sand simulation made by Miguel Perez Senent, he used rigid bodies and particles for what i see, there is also a Sand node but i dont try it yet.

I made a simple rbd animation based on a tutorial from digital tutors here is the Youtube link. Also i have the problem asigning shop materials to the objects in the dynamic sim, any tip about that?
