Unlock the power of Houdini 20.5 by learning how to create a wetmap using the new Copernicus, COPs, context and Opencl. This technique was shown in the launch videos and short film, Turbulence, for the release of Houdini 20.5. This is a remake and in depth look at the technique used for that short film.
Wetmaps are an essential part of a variety of effects. Copernicus allows us to easily create these with the use of Opencl and VBD's. This lesson goes over how to create VDB's and bring them into Copernicus for use in Opencl. Opencl is then used to process positional data of the mesh as well as the VDB to generate a wetmap that can be used in shading.
