The fur procedural now supports transfering arbitrary texture attributes from the generating skin and will give each hair a unique ID. A new parameter exists to set the seed used in random number generation. Also, layers are now named. The layer's name is used as a prefix to all attributes used by hairs in the layer.

The Pivot and Uniform Scale parameters on Objects are no longer autoscoped by default. This means that selecting the objects in the viewport will no longer have these parameters automatically loaded into the Channel List.

The Global Variables VOP will now show the global variables specific to an Illuminance loop even inside a sub-network inside an Illuminance Loop VOP. This changes the order of the outputs in this VOP slightly, and so may break some existing VOP Networks. To fix any problems, ensure that the correct outputs are connected from Global Variables VOPs when inside Illuminance Loop VOPs. Setting the HOUDINI8_COMPATIBILITY environment variable causes Global Variable VOPs to exhibit the old behavior of not showing the Illuminance variables when inside subnets, so old hip files should then work properly.
