Houdini Main Changelogs

6.2.7

The output from the opparm command has changed slightly. When using the opparm -d command to display parameter values, only the spacing has changed. Output from "opparm -d model tx" would have been: opparm model tx ( 0 0 0 ) But now will now be: opparm model tx ( 0 0 0 ) Also, some error messages have changed to display the full path of the node that is the source of the error rather than just the node name.

6.2.7

Added a new option to the opparm command which allows it to automatically detect channel reference expressions and set the value of the referenced parameter rather than the value of the specified parameter.

PolySplit now changes the selection type to Edges when it is done so that subsequent operations can automatically get the new edges in the selection. This is especially useful for PolySplits followed by Edits.

6.2.6

Camera and light objects now have the shading quality parameter exposed. However, the behaviour of the shading quality parameter for cameras and light sources was changed so that it acts as a multiplier on shading quality for all objects rendered from the camera. Since the parameter wasn't exposed prior to this version, it's unlikely that this will affect compatibility, however, it was actually possible to change this parameter in scripts and the behaviour in generating RIB/IFD streams has changed.

6.2.6

The shading quality parameter in light and camera objects is now accessible in the UI. This parameter will now affect the shading quality as a multiplier for all objects rendered from the given camera. This also affects auto-generated depth maps from light sources. Thus, it is now easily possible to render shadow maps with a different shading quality than the main render.
