Houdini Main Changelogs

6.0.229

It is now possible to set the Geomtry File parameter of an object to point to a file embedded in an operator type definition (using the opdef: syntax described in the help for the Edit Contents dialog). Doing so causes the geometry to be embedded in the IFD that is sent to mantra.

After hitting the Apply button in the Type Properties dialog, we no longer refresh the dialog contents from the current operator definition. This lets you repeatedly save the definition to somewhere other than the location of the current definition without having to redo the changes each time the Apply button is hit.

When doing a Create Parameter or Create Constant operation from the middle mouse button menu of a VOP input, we now preserve environment variables and expressions in their unexpanded form as the default values in the new Parameter or Constant VOP.

Fixed bug where it would change the viewer to the render geometry in the object viewport when rendering interactively from Houdini. This required a SOP subnet within which inside it had its render and display flags on different SOPs. Then the subnet had to have a Transform SOP appended with its render and display flags set.

For captured geometry using the Capture[Proximity] SOPs, interactive performance on moving bone chains and playback performance on animated bone chains should be much better now as they no longer recook unnecessarily.
