Environment variables are now expanded when in Houdini path variables. For example:

setenv HOUDINI_PATH '$JOB/houdini;&'

will do as one would expect. Furthermore, the ^ is defined in the HOUDINI_DSO_PATH to be the "os_proc" string, and now defaults to:

@/dso_^;@/dso

This means one can put NT specific dsos in $HSITE/houdini4.9/dso_nt_intel and Irix ones in $HSITE/houdini4.9/dso_irix_mips. As usual, "hconfig -ap" will explain what ^ will expand to on the machine it is run from.
