The occlusion and irradiance now have the maxdist parameter exposed as a parameter (rather than requiring an input).

A new VOP was added for the pathtrace() VEX function. This is similar to the occlusion and irradiance VOPs.

When specifying the "maxdist" variadic argument to ray-tracing functions, values less than 0 will be considered to have no upper limit. That is, a value less than 0 will be considered to be an infinite distance. Previously, no ray would have been sent. This affects all ray-tracing functions including occlusion, irradiance, reflectlight, the gather construct, etc.
