Hi,

When i try to open the channel editor Houdini is crashing?

I just downloaded the latest build but i am still getting the same problem?

It was working fine yesterday and i can't think of anything i've upgraded which would have altered the program apart from the latest java drivers?

I'm using snow leapord on mac.

Any help would be great?

I had this problem for ~2 days. It went away as mysteriously as it arrived.

Sorry that's not more helpful…

I had this once - solution was to move the houdiniX.Y directory into a backup folder. Houdini creates a new folder, crashing went away - never had the time to track down what caused the crash. Some GL settings maybe.
this is not a science fair.

Please substitute X.Y with the major_version.minor_version of your Houdini install located in your home directory.

On windows, this would be in your home folder Applications folder I believe and the directory would be Houdini10.0. Move it or delete it and then restart Houdini.
There's at least one school like the old school!

Hi,

I just found a solution that seems to work on mac osx.

If you delete the Houdini folder inside Library>Preferences and then restart houdini it seems to be ok.

Hope this helps anyone else who has the same problem.

I just tried the fix and it seems to work well… excellent work chrisperry05!

BTW this was the answer I recvied from SESI after submitted a bugreport:

I'm sorry, but your GeForce card does not meet our system requirements.

… I didnt know that my newish macbook“PRO” isn't really up to snuf when it comes to Houdini :x , apple must up their game in the mobile GPUs or else the “pro”label should be changed into “semipro”…

but anyway , thanks for the fix
