In your CHOP network, use File to import. To export, right-click on the node and choose Save Data Channels.

wow, thanks a lot for the video!
still having some problem though.

about the exporting, if i don't already have a file, how would i the export? if i just ad the file nod and going to save data channels i wont get a dialog box for saving.

regarding the import, that was exactly what i was trying. but no luck. i'm attaching the file i'm trying to import.
it's a .dot just to be able to upload it.

thanks a lot!!

Actually, .chan files don't have the channel names so i think you need to figure that out first.

For exporting, you can put down a Fetch CHOP and point it at your camera.

Well, after importing .chan files, you need to rename the channel names to match which camera parameters you want to export to. So it all depends on how the .chan files were created in the first place.

Actually, you can just use the Export CHOP directly, as shown in the attached file.

and houdini locks up, i can't press ok in the dialog, the hole program freezes.

Hover your mouse over the parameter name of the camera, a tooltip will appear with the channel names.

As for the Export CHOP, you can do something like chan then. What happens is that for both expanded strings, they get matched in order.
