Seriously? I hope you didn't have to cash out for that, is there any way we can reimburse you… How about loads of beers next time we all visit London.

Thank you very much but there is so much beer I can ingest… Upgrading the Dropbox account removed the limit but I am not sure how much more I can push it without going enterprise… therefore I will surely talk to the guys at SideEffects or OdForce to host these files.

Jordi,
here is a little prototype for the material library.

all 3 materials appear under TAB>MatLibs>Metals>
are saved in same otl file, but are separate hda's so can separate versions (i've added buttons for that ) so easy to add, easy to maintain
to have a convenient rollback option in

Operator Type Manager(right click on any node)>Configuration set “Operator Type Bar” to “Display Menu of All Definition”, you will see addition bar at the top of parameter pane

take a look and of course share your thoughts when you have time to spare

Actually it is a very nice tidy and solution and asset versioning is a great idea to keep the possibility of going back!!!

Thanks so much!!! Learning a lot!!!

Ok, the first 3 chapters now consolidated into 3 single files which makes sense.

This is where I am at the moment…

We'll be mirroring these on the sidefx.com website shortly. I'll post a link as soon as they're up.

Thanks Halfdan…

Just a question, hope it makes sense…

I am planning to remove the consolidated guides from Dropbox and keep only the work in progress ones and once they are consolidated I will ask you to publish host these.

Does it make sense? That way I will keep the dropbox account healthy and still be able to have really quick iterations with the various fixes and corrections.

We'll be more than happy to do so. Just ping me offline when a consolidated guide is ready and we'll add it to the ones already listed.

Awesome work, Jordi. Can't thank you enough.

And one more about HDA

HoudiniGuides_Chapter4_HDA_3_SmartHDA.pdf

I am about to finish this section (one more to go about how to embed logic, documentation, icons, etc…) and my plan is to jump into either

- Data managmenet : implications of a fully referenced approach to disk data.

- Rigging and animation : this will be quite long i would imagine.

Any preferences?

Selfishly, can i suggest the Rigging pdf take precedence ?

I'm finding these hugely useful, they are very much appreciated Jordi

Well, a few people had expressed Rigging first but some arguments have made me think to prioritise Data Management which will be short in comparison.

a bit of patience and we will be there.

;-)

thx
