True, unless the help is wrong. DOPs have changed a lot over the last few months. Helpcards are great, you can also approach it from the other end:

hdox/houdini/content/helpcards/ops_examples_dop.xml

with the examples first, which lead you to DOPs. Also, I assume you've already read the Intro to DOPs:

hdox/houdini/content/base/dyn.xml
