Hello everyone reading!
I was wondering if anyone would know of any good tutorials that focus on creating Assets to bring into Maya. When it comes to basic assets that are just static geometry, I don't have many problems. When it comes to dynamics which include rigid bodies or any sort of pyro sim, they instantly crash Maya completely when I use the Houdini engine to import them.
I'm pretty new to Houdini, so I might be missing something obvious. Wasn't able to find anything myself through research. Any help or resources would be appreciated!

I was able to figure out why it was crashing, It seemed like it was because of the way objects were being referenced in the DOP network.
I was able to import the assets in without crashing, but I did encounter another problem. Whenever I batch render with Mental Ray or Renderman (although it works with the Maya software renderer), the houdini-related objects don't update with the frames. In the viewport and in playblasts everything looks fine. During a batch render the asset just looks like a completely static mesh throughout the entire length of the render.
EDIT: I added an example I have to the post, Just a simple box with dynamics. It looks fine in the viewport and in Maya software, but it doesn't update when I batch render it out. I'm hoping someone would be able to help me find any beginner's mistakes I made. Hoping it will be something simple…
Thanks to anyone who can help me!
