Let's say I created a material in Houdini and wanted to import the material into Unity.

I have tried creating .otl file for the material when exporting it out. However, it is unable to load in Unity because it is an invalid asset.

I am aware of this page : http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/shade/exports [sidefx.com] . Unfortunately, it is complicated for me to understand what needs to be done.

Not entirely sure what you mean by “exporting”. If you just create a simple asset with a box and assign it a material with a texture, that should come across to Unity just fine.

What do you mean by “invalid asset”?

Maybe this will clarify things a bit: https://vimeo.com/158671974 [vimeo.com]
