Hi there…

Just got Houdini 16 Indie and I am having a ton of fun… Question… Because I have the Indie version there is no way to off load the rendering to either another PC or AWS… While my PC is fast, i7 Devils Canyon, its NOT fast for rendering… Do I just give up my PC while it renders? Even if I leave me a core in the mantra node, its hard to do anything else.

Apologies for the noob question…… Thanks.

Pretty much yes, unless you want to use a render farm.
If you have another PC and a second license for Indie, you can render that way. That's what I did.

I built a render machine for Houdini so I can still work while things are rendering, but it cost me a second Houdini Indie license.

Thanks for the note… After getting to know the software more I came to the same conclusion you suggested above… Even spending the extra money on an Indie license is still very competitive for such a great product! I'm thinking of getting one of those new Ryzen processors as they appear to do well in this type of work-flow.

Take care…
