I seem to have encountered a weird problem where when I want to modify an object it disappears and only highlights the faces and edges and the only way for the object to be visible is to enable the construction plane. Is there anyone with a solution to this kind of problem? It is not a memory restriction because I am using just 60% of it when running Houdini.

Try dropping down a Normals node at the end of your network and move the visibility flag to that node.
