Hi,

I am thinking about moving away from Maya to Houdini and am trying out the apprentice version. I am going to model something basic first and have got stuck straight away

I have created a tube, Changed it to a Polygon type, enabled End Caps but the end caps aren't showing any polys so currently its an engon. In Maya when you first create a Cylinder it shows the caps have each edge vertex going to a single point in the centre of the cap if that makes sense?

How can i do this please?

Thanks for your help!
Joe

I think the right word would be Triangulate the cap. I have tried using Polyfill then switch it to poly triangle but I can't then put an edge loop around it

Hello
You can use a polyfill node set to triangle fan mode and un checking deform patch to get what you want

You could use the polysplit node set on edge loop (but it's only working on quad face , so you will need the first loop created by the polyfill)

Maybe the best , to have something even with the edge loop would be to use a polyextrude with scale 0 with some division
there's allway a lot a way of doing things in Houdini , that's why it's fun ;-)
