Hi guys,

I'm not quite sure if I'm doing something wrong here, but starting with houdini 17, whenever I'm using the surfaceexport-node to connect i.e. a classiccore I'm getting this warning: ‘Warning: /opt/hfs17.0/houdini/vex/include/physicalsss.h: Using uninitialized variable: nmax (247,26:29)’ - using computelighting doesn't yield that message… Any clues?

cheers,
flo

Ugh, any luck with that? I'm getting same error.

Actually yes, at least I think so - Problem was I used ‘Collapse Selected into Material’ from the Edit menu which also automatically connected the core shader to a displacement export - and those variables seem to only be valid in ‘Surface’ Context (which absolutely makes sense of course). So as soon as I deleted the displacement export the warning went away… Strange, that a menu operation would setup it in such a way though - maybe I'm missing something else? Let me know if its the same for you, cheers

Hmm, thanks for the pointer! I'll try to investigate it.
