I'm currently bothering with Tracking and getting that Tracking Data into Houdini. I know there are some great tools like PFTrack or 3D Equalizer but for now I've only Mocha Pro at my disposal.

I've a very basic test shot here and tracked it inside After Effects via the Mocha Plugin. After Tracking I did the camera solve in Mocha and got a solve quality of 97% there, which I assume, is good enough.
I then exported the solve as FBX and imported it in Houdini. I get a camera and many nulls there, but everything is way off. I really don't know what to do now and how to start off with the data or if it's even right.

So, is someone there who is also tracking with Mocha and give me a quick jumpstart?

I have only used the Mocha Pro camera solver once, and I don't think it was a particularly accurate test.

The first thing I would look at is whether the Houdini Camera Film Back (i.e. Aperture) matches the one in Mocha. I believe 99% of the various issues I have read stem from that.

In general, for actual proper Camera Tracking I would stick with more tried and true apps like Syntheyes, PFTrack or the Fusion Studio Camera Tracker which…even if you need to buy the full software at $300 is actually the cheapest option of the three.

ok so probably Mocha is indeed not the right tool for that task.

Maybe I could try blender for tracking and then export the camera, but thats a different Story.

Anyway thanks for your reply.
