Hi guys,
I'm curious if I can render a “dome map” which I can use for lithing with Environment light?
I want to create a city and would like to use models only around the camera, the buildings behind the “master buildings” should be on the dome light. So I would like to render only a map and than delete those buildings, and use only the buildings close to the camera.
How can I achieve that?

Hide everything that is not supposed to go into the dome map, put a camera right in the middle, set its projection to Polar Panoramic (it's on the view tab), make the render resolution 2:1 (like 2048*1024), and render it.
Then you can use the result as an environment map on an envlight.
