For todays challenge I attempted to try something different and not do the classic feather and got inspired by the feathers at the end of an arrow. However the camera motion in this as well as timings and comp need a lot more work… anyway, as always hope you enjoy! btw I love the submissions for today, very inspiring stuff!

In the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the final destination is the “Hall of Two Truths”, overseen by the goddess Maat (Goddess of Truth, natch). Anubis is charged with weighing the heart of the deceased on a scale against Maat's sacred feather of truth. If the heart was found to be heavier than the feather, it was thrown to Ammut the Devourer to obliterate their soul. But, if it was lighter, then they could proceed to live forever among the “Imperishable Stars”…
Here, Anubis checks the scales before heading off to makeup before the show starts.
Oh, by the way, that weird looking thing standing upright in the right scale dish is Maat's sacred feather. The left dish is where the heart will go…
Aside from SimpleMale, all geometry procedural, with a couple of texmaps.
