Sorry for the late reply. You can update it for free for any new Houdini version. But once a year, I ask $20-30 for the update. Why is that? The modeler is still not that popular. Working on it is my full-day job. The development takes approximately 12 hours a day. So, currently, this is the only way to continue working on Modeler.

I purchased the plugin and after dabbling a little, what can I say? Its quite fantastic, I really wish that the Houdini Developers employ you and make this a standard! I come from Modo and this is not far off! With more polishing and integration, Modeling in Houdini might become state of the art and people would buy more Core Licenses! Please SideFX developers, employ Alexey :0)

The modeler is still not that popular.
You want to change that? Find a good Houdini tutorial creator, offer then a cut of your profits in exchange for a series of comprehensive video tutorials on Modeler. I guarantee that your sales will increase!

I will record a series of tutorials. I will discover all the aspects of the product.
PS Stop being smart. Your messages are usually not very helpful…

For me it wasn´t the lack of tutorials that held me back, because everything seems kind of straight forward. Modeling is kind of similar throughout the apps, but I guess most of the modelers are still using other apps.
What held me back initially was mainly the thought of having to pay 100$ again for each new Houdini version. I think one of the things Alex could improve is the communication on how updates are handled in terms of pricing. The other issue I have are plugins in general, but this can only be solved if this plugin is integrated into Houdini (which I would love to see)
But so far I´m very happy with the purchase! Good work

Dunno if I can stop being smart, but I am genuinely trying to help you. I've already given you far too much of my money for something that hasn't been particularly useful to me. In turn you've been promising good tutorials for years and yet haven't done it.
You might be clever with the tools that you create, but ultimately it doesn't matter how good the tools are if nobody knows how to use them. If you don't have a good business plan and a good relationship with your customer base, you're destined to fail.
So if you're going to create some good tutorials on Modeler, get on with it already – what are you waiting for?
P.S.
My idea still stands and I wasn't being sarcastic, if you're not going to do it, partner up with someone who will and share your profits with them!

citizenAlexey VanzhulaI don't know anything about your blugin, but that's not a very good model imo, from a concept point of view as well as topolgy, which is mainly lots of geometric primitives slapped together.
This guy didn't ask any questions about using Modeler. Think about it…
I'm not saying that the model is super high quality. But try to do this without using plugins. How long will it take you to do this?

no idea how long it would take me. but I've read your back and forth replies with Midphase and interpreted that response of yours as “I might not be putting out tutorials, but look at the cool stuff other people can do without tutorials”. it could be that I misunderstood your reply, but that's how I read it.
as a side note, Midphase is right when he says you could use some marketing form and step back from direct interaction with your clients. as a creator myself I understand the tendency to get precious with your creations and if that's part of a business, let someone else deal with the client interaction while you take a step back and focus on the the creation itself. that's how I'd do it, anyway

Oh, I agree with you and Midphase about the lack of tutorials. Maybe it is a surprise for many, but I working on that. Tutorials from the developer are coming…
