h18 rbd secondary fracture from a cached rbd sim

Hello fellow practitioners,

i have a cached fractured rbd sim which i am happy with , and i need a secondary fracture from the primary cached sim only when the pieces hit the ground (which is a cached object as well),

the current method i use is take the cached sim add a voronoi fracture on top pack them with assemble sop and make them a active only when it enters a volume where the ground is , in the dop side i add a configure voronoi object and and set the impact group to the ground dop ,

it works but as expected it detaches each primitive instead of what you would expect from a fractured piece ,
am i missing something,

is there a better way of getting the secondary fracture from a cached primary fracture in h18 ?

you can use dop sop fracture technique post sim also, select the piece you want to refracture and fracture that before hit frame and inherit velocity and rotation (w) in dop.
