Apologies in advance for what may be a dumb question on my part.

Houdini 18.5 and below has daily build installers for either Python 2 (py2) or Python 3 (py3).

Houdini 19 download installers doesn't seem to differentiate. Does it matter?

The reason for the question is Renderman 24.2 has Houdini 19 support and offers an RM download for either py2 or py3.

TIA.

I found this on cgchannel

"Houdini 19 is also the first version of the software in which Python 3.7 is enabled by default, SideFX having provided parallel Python 3 builds throughout the Houdini 18 release cycle.

According to SideFX, Python 2.7 will continue to be supported “for another release or two” for compatibility with third-party tools that do not yet support the newer version of the programming language."

Houdini 19 also has py2 and py3 installers. Houdini 19.5 only has py3 support but has two different installers, one for 3.7 and one for 3.9

Yes, i'd like to know what version is recommended please. It's quite an unclear topic for me.
