Can redshift save mp4 format?

Hi everyone.

I was looking for a way to save animation with mp4 format with redshift in houdini.

This is pretty much never done in 3d. Even the most stable render will occasionally glitch out, if you rendered for 10 hours to find frame 12 has a glitch and you have to do it all over again, you'd be unhappy.

The more common workflow is to render an image sequence, then combine them into an mp4. You can do that via a video editing program, or a compositing program, or a command line tool like ffmpeg. Tops in Houdini let's you orchestrate both the render and ffmpeg so that each process can be chained automatically.

you can save an image sequence as an avi file from mplay, then use handbrake or some other easy software to encode it to mp4 if you don't feel like using a command line tool such as ffmpeg.
If you're on a mac you can save to a quicktime instead of an avi.
