Put down a scatter sop, slide around the 'force total count' parameter. The range is between 1 and 100,000, but the logarithmic slider is designed so that you can hit broad ranges of 1-10, 10-100, 100-1000, 1000-10000, 10000-100000 relatively easily.
If sidefx have set the default slider behaviour to logarithmic, its usually for a reason, and gives clues to the range+accuracy of the values you're meant to use.

jsmackRegardless, it feels a bit odd visually as it's mostly for a visual representation of logarithmic scale to distinguish linear vs log slider, so the repeating of that pattern is not necessary IMHO and feels like a cluttertamte
Currently it seems like it's repeating that pattern, which doesn't really make sense
its like 0...1 ... 10 ... 100 etc that's why it repeats. the spacing is the scaling as if it was linear.

It's not for visual representation, it's a guide to tell how much the value will change if you move the slider, it's the same as on the linear scale.

jsmackto certain degree this makes sense and maybe someone relies on the ticks when moving the slider
It's not for visual representation, it's a guide to tell how much the value will change if you move the slider, it's the same as on the linear scale.
however the values at those tick ranges are heavily dependent on the slider value range, which additionally adds to the clutter as different log sliders have differently aligned ticks
but for me personally it's just an UI clutter
I have never looked at ticks and tried to figure out what value I may get at which slider percentage, I just drag carefully and see the value change
