I'm not sure whether I'm exporting the scene correctly or if this cannot be done and I'm completely misunderstanding how Houdini works.

I have created a scene with sphere objects in various positions, using the Copy to Points node. When I render it all looks good.

However, I would also like to export a particular frame to 3D print in another 3D Package. When I export as an FBX none of the spheres that I have copied to points appear if I load the scene in the other package. I have tried so far exporting to Modo and 3DC

If this can be done is there a good tutorial to help me understand the process.

Thanks

OK for anyone else new to Houdini like me I figured it out.

In the settings you need to select .... ExportInvisible objects (As visible Nodes)

Is it possible that you have copied houdini's native sphere primitives or packed geometry? If yes, these should be converted to 'real' polygons first to be recognized by most other applications or even 3rd party renderers. I suppose, this happens in the background as well, when you activate these switches?
