I'm not sure if I understand the licensing correctly, but it seems that Houdini Indie license allows installing Houdini itself on two computers, and then I also see "Karma/Mantra tokens", which are 2 of each.

My question is, what kinds of setup does this allow in terms of using more than one computer to render? Can I actually use this to render on the two machines, since I'll be still "one user"?

You can find Indie faqs here:
https://www.sidefx.com/faq/indie-new/ [www.sidefx.com]

You can't use Houdini(Interface) on both machines at once, but you can set up a render farm using Hqueue with up to 3 nodes with Houdini engine and Karma/Mantra licenses.

Hi

As the faq shows, you get 2 full licenses. the interface is also 2 pcs, it runs simultaneously on the desktop and, say, on your laptop. the render can be set to 2 machines using hqueue, so netrender works with 2 machines, whether you use mantra or karma.
