Hi guys,

The Houdini sunlight isn’t illuminating the scene as expected. While I can increase the sun and sky values, doing so will also impact the atmosphere, which isn’t the desired outcome. So, how can I fix it?

Thanks for helping.

For some reason I always push exposure on Karma Physical Sky to around 2 to get what feels like the proper brightness. Also considering the FOV of your reference, I couldn't tell how high up the sun actually is (the camera could be tilted up quit a bit). Only looking at your render, you are looking straigth ahead if not even tilted a little bit down.

Thank you Ronald,

1) Yes, I increased the exposure, but it only seems to work well when I set it around 7, which isn’t acceptable to me.

2) When the sun is low on the horizon, it naturally warms the sky with hues of yellow and orange. While this effect is beautiful, there are times when I’d like to take control and create a cooler palette with more blue tones. However, I’m unsure how to achieve this.
