Hi all,

I've been testing Karma on my Mac and I seem to run into an issue where the render time will slow down to a crawl when my mac turns off the display after 20 minutes or so. For example, I had frames rendering every 3 minutes and then after the 7th frame, the 8th frame would take 40 minutes and continue to grow in render time.

I was able to solve this by preventing the Mac from turning off the display and staying on for the whole render.

Is this a known issue?

Yes, I also had this issue. Your Mac goes into sleep mode where only the efficiency cores are working. The solution is to install Amphetamine, a free app preventing your Mac from sleeping. In Amphetamine you can even define custom triggers. I have setup one for the Houdini application. This means whenever Houdini is running, my Mac will not go into energy save mode.

Interesting. I didn't know about Amphetamine.

Does this still allow for the displays turn off and still have all cores running?
