Get Ready for the MARDINI Daily Art Challenge - your chance to compete for cool prizes by creating images or animations! With a different challenge every day during the month of March, you'll have 31 chances to enter and win.

This year, each week features a different Houdini focus area – with a daily prompt to inspire your artwork. As usual, the judges will be looking at the aesthetics of your artwork.

Check out all the details for Mardini 2025:

Hi Robert, I have yet to receive my swag pack for the Mardini 2024. I have received the one for 2023 while most were receiving the one for 2024 (according to the posts in the respective forums). Would it be possible to check what is going on? If it's because there's still delays in the order or because it got lost along the way? Thanks a lot in advance.

Might brave this again.

We allowed to use apps like Nuke/Resolve for comp or should it be COPs?

Pure Houdini with no outside geo or textures... sounds daunting but I'm game

All the prompts have been posted - the forums for you to submit your work will go up based on the Eastern Standard Time (EST) That is also used for the deadlines. The details are in the rules.

In past years people who have focused on Houdini felt they had a disadvantage to people who used outside content. This evens the fields a bit.

Note that Content Library Material (https://www.sidefx.com/contentlibrary/) can be used to support your work. There are even some textures in there.

Hi!
I'm just worried that the first message might take a long time to go through, and I might not be able to submit my work before the deadline. That's why I'm writing this message so that the post with a submit isn't the first one!
I wish everyone good luck and patience to get through the challenge!

So, for the daily threads, if we post an image, and then decide to animate it later that day, just delete the first post?

Or does animation supersede a still image? Or just wait till we are done to post?

I am curious to know if there a limitation to the resolution & aspect ratio(portrait vs landscape) for the submissions?

1920x1080 would be ideal but that is not a restriction.
