How to detect 'mostly' overlapping polygons?

Hi all, I have a scene where I have a bunch of polygons in a wall like arrangement. I have used fuse/clean to remove the back-to-back vertical faces with a lot of success.

However, there are a lot of polygons that are not inline and so that method doesn't work on these ones (see pic).

So I'm looking for a method to be able to select the back-to-back polys that are not exactly lined up and remove those also. Grateful for any ideas!

I was able to get something pretty decent by offsetting the polys and then using ray sop. There are still some issues with other parts of the mesh where the geo get a bit more involved. But this did a pretty good job of cleaning these polys. I will continue and see if i can get the other stuff working
