Is it possible to update the Houdini apprentice HD to a newer build? I am unsure how to deal with the license server. Is there a step by step procedure? Thanks,

I went ahead and installed the latest production build. I did not nave to do anything with licencses (so far as I can tell). It looks like it installed a new complete instance of Houdini. Does it seem correct that there is no license manipulation required? Thanks for you r help.

Generally, yes, you don't have to touch the licensing setup again, unless you're trying to install an entirely new point release (like, say, 10.5 when it comes out), and in that case I think you have to buy a new HD license. (ie, upgrades to new major point releases are not part of the original HD license agreement)
