At home with a cold, thought I'd give this a go. Have seen this question come up with different software over the years, the answer is almost always, ‘ugh, just use a FK bone chain and keyframe it, it’ll take all of 5 mins'.
Having never used houdinis joints before nor capture tools, gave it a go, they were all correct. Combine with some cheeky timeshifts to replicate the page a few times, its not half bad.

So I think I found what is the problem. In the tutorial you are using Houdini 16.5, when you are creating the constrains often the node have select and visibility flag off but in Houdini 17 when select and visibility flag are off there is strange creation of the Chop network and the constrain do not work. As soon as you enable the flags everything works fine.

Problem Ik Fk Blend not working Houdini 17

Is the new videos for Capturing/Editing Weights/Deformation series coming soon ? It would really helpful. There are hundreds of tutorials for maya but almost nothing for Houdini regarding rigging. Houdini is amazing tool, but regarding this subject users are left in darkness. Sure some riggers with 10 years experience can figure things out, not so easy for new people. This tutorials are really great.

I am having problem with UI, it appears black partly. I have 4k monitor.
In console appears:
Qt Warn: Warning: QT_DEVICE_PIXEL_RATIO is deprecated. Instead use:
QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR to enable platform plugin controlled per-screen factors.
QT_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTORS to set per-screen factors.
QT_SCALE_FACTOR to set the application global scale factor.
I tried to reinstall houdini, delete the preferences in Documents, reinstall graphic drivers, but no luck. The only solution is to set custom scale for windows under 150 % but then other applications become unusable.

Hi Everybody
I am looking for some elegant way how to work with particle groups. I am looking for solution subtracting POP groups. That means if particle enter group B its no longer present in group A.
