PVKwith the right skills its possible...
I understand that there is no computer for calculating simulations in real time
1 core fluid sim by John Lin last year:

and this one by Alex Mcleod... 10 years ago:

Not useful for your work though, maybe reconsider doing sims if its too frustrating.

Probably still futile using it for tracking, roto and keying.
However with vex you get total control of the image without the risks that come with with glsl/gpu.
Having said that I'm really liking what I see with Tooll3 so-far...

Just keep putting in RFEs [www.sidefx.com].
Or make a comparison video of other curve tools in other packages… shame is a good motivator too
3DSmax 3.1 probably won't work anymore…

Technical Discussion » How to convert detail attributes into a wall of text

Try details(), however in this case its more typing than direct data-entry into the font sop.
If there's heaps of items you can parse a csv to point attributes, format the table as a detail string, then read the whole thing into font in one hit.

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Houdini Indie should follow Unity's Pricing

REO_3Dagree, there's a steep barrier-to-entry for low-end commercial work, given the resources required to get work processed/rendered overnight, plus last-minute revisions, plus general sketchiness of clients in that bloody arena. The recommended solution is to ‘don’t go there', however its by far the best training for vfx at all levels (not just technical) and is where Indie can best serve as a gateway drug… so-to-speak.
I feel like the pricing on Houdini Indie is off.
The ideal solution would be free licenses for Indie, but Sidefx can tap you to pay-up at any time, or else cut you off. This way all of the nubs & recalcitrants can slug it out against their Blender competitors without handicap, while those few who get lucky will feel the hand of Sidefx in their pocket.

you can also just use group-range then exploit the divide sop to clean it up.

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Getting weird results with Polybevel

its behaving properly: the bevel will only slide its own (new) points, not other points that are in the way, as is the case with the nearby points causing problems here. You can fix the problem by target-welding those out, but doing this every time will get tedious.
Was going to suggest a different approach but the file has become unstable…
You can also try doing the bevels at the end of the process, avoiding the problem by doing them in a certain sequence, or using a scaling attribute.
