I am having trouble getting VAT to work with PDG, it is all set up correctly but exr files that come out are correct size and all but they are all black. Pressing render button no VAT node however produces expected results. Am I missing something or is it a bug ?
PDG network is dead simple, it reads fbx animations from a folder, brings them to sops, does stuff and renders them out.

- in the variant sets input, type the variant set name most cases you will need to type "geo" here
Doesn't work for me, my variant set is called "model" and all it does is that it imports one asset with all the variants within.
Layout LOP is fantastic tool but a bit too wonky to be really useful.

Thanks Chris, this is brilliant. I managed to do it by writing usds from component builder with proxies and all.

3 - The "Auto-fill Materials" button mentioned above is a Python scrips inside the SOP Create HDA which you could try extracting and running in a Python LOP
I chose number 3 because I would like to batch process large number of assets in TOP. Manually clicking through and pressing buttons to autofill materials and save to disk is all good but I can't get it to work in TOPS.

Not sure if it is related or not but this is what happens when you start with new scene in 19.0.501 (it is even worse in 19.0.455), put down component builder, save it and open again:

tamte
you can use following point attributes on your vellum geometry to control collisions per pointi@disableself = 1; // to disable self collisions i@disableexternal = 1; // to disable collisions with external objects
Is there a way to do it per object ? I would like to disable it on one object but not the other.
Cheers !

I noticed that MMB click on node output no longer summons op menu and it is thus no longer possible to branch off new node. Bug or feature ? Is there any way to bring it back ? It is double plus moderately annoying.

Hi!
I am trying to set up HQueue on Centos7 machine. While installer appear a to be whole lot friendlier since the last time I installed HQ it is giving me whole bunch of funny errors.
It kindly offers to set up as shared folder but while doing so it comes up with following error despite nfs-utils being installed:
ERROR: Could not find the NFS daemon.
Make sure that nfs-utils or an equivalent package is installed.
Exiting installer…
Error: Could not install HQueue.
So I went and shared folder manually, ran installer again, this time selecting option 2 (use existing share). This time however it refused to complete the install, prompting following error:
Installing HQueue Client files…
tar (child): /home/user/Downloads/houdini-15.5.673-linux_x86_64_gcc4.8/python2.7.tar.gz: Cannot open: Permission denied
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
ERROR: Could not install Python distribution.
Error: Could not install HQueue.
Help please…

Hi !
I just set up HQueue and it is working really nice but there is major inconvenience:
I have server/client (6 cores/12 threads) + seven other clients(4 cores/4 threads), but each of them is rendering using only one thread. I can tell that by number of mantra tokens taken as well as cpu usage graph that stubbornly sits at 25% for quad-core machine and miserable 8% for hexa-core machine. I tried editing hserver.opt with limited success. After reboot it would render one job at full or allmost full cpu usage (i am aware of limitations of multi-threaded rendering but simple ambient occlusion pass takes every bit of processing power as far as i know) but after a while it reverts to former state. I own one master licence and 55 mantras. As far as i know 40 (total number of threads in farm) mantra tokens should be used instead of 8 that are used at the moment.
Please help
cheers

I have similar problem, i set up hqueue and it is working very nicely and rarely needs restarting but clients are only using fraction of cpu resources (system monitor reports values ranging from 0% - 35%). At the moment i only have two clients (both i7, one 4 and another 6 core). I have one master license and loads of mantras. I tried -n option but doesn't make any difference. And it only consumes single mantra license per client.
Server/client is i7 990 (6 cores) 24gb and other machine is i7 920 (4 cores) with 6gb ram, both are running ubuntu 10.10

Possibilities don't help me get shots finalled on time. Tools that enable artists to create great images fast help me get shots finalled on time.
Houdini is a more TD tool, and TD makes tools for artists. If you choosed Houdini that means that you understand that nobody will do tools for you and you have to roll everything on you own.
