Hiya,
Not sure what OS you're running, so just do a search for the 123.cmd file on your system.
If you edit that file, right at the bottom you'll find a few lines that sets the desktop, just copy and past the following over the existing code to have the technical desktop open automatically for ya:
set desks = `run(“desk list”)`
set build = 0
set animate = 0
foreach desk ( $desks )
if ($desk == “Technical”)
set build = 1
else if ($desk == “Build”)
set animate = 1
endif
end
if ($build == 1) then
desk set Technical
else if ($animate == 1) then
desk set Build
endif
Hope that helps!
Matt.

Hi guys,
I'm using Apprentice 9.5.308 on Vista 64 SP1 with a Wacom Graphire3, and as reported before (logged as BUG 31473 [sidefx.com] a while ago), whilst using Houdini a cursor lag begins and gets progressively worse as time goes by.
I have tried different applications, drivers and different settings, yet it's only Houdini that produces this behaviour, regardless of drivers & settings, and only if I have the Wacom plugged in.
I have also tried with my brother's Intuos3 and there is no difference in behaviour.
Most of the time restarting Houdini will sort it out for a bit, but I am finding it most frustrating having to restart Houdini all the time.
Besides moving to Ubuntu and getting a mouse, any suggestions?
Matt.

I had the exact same issue - gfont.exe would crash on install and then Houdini 9.0.674 would not run under Vista Ultimate 32bit.
The issue is: gfont is unable to write to font.index in > pathToHoudini/fonts/font.index - due to permissions.
If anyone else runs into this, select the font.index file, right click and select properties and under the security tab, edit the Users group and with Users selected, tick all the boxes under "allow".
Then from the Command Line Tools run gfont -Sv again and the index will be succesfully built.
Hope this helps!
