I hope someone can provide guidance for a begenner. I want to model water errosion and have decided the errosion node is not able to de everything I want. Consequently I will have to build my own.

I found a good tutorial at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcVp8_6uheg&t=38s [www.youtube.com] which seemed to provide a first step. It uses OpenCL. I got the code working but as a next step I needd to build a random number generator inside it. Options for seeding the generator included Time or the Current Iteration. An internet seach railed to find a method for either of these. I also asked ChatGPT and soon realised it was not tht smart. Is there someone who could guild bme in this?Alternatively, if it can't be done, it would be good to know that so i did not waste my time attempting the impossible.
