Hello guys!
I'm trying to get my head around the concept of distributed sims and even caching on the farm. Obviously, I know what they are and their purposes lol. But how it actually works behind the scenes is still unclear to me.
For distributed simulations, I understand that it splits the simulation up and then caches each section with a buffer around the edge. Then I believe once each section is completed caching, all the buffer zones are smoothed out / averaged? I'm unsure of the actual processes that are happening there
And for caching on the farm, how can multiple frames of the same cache be run on different nodes at the same time considering each frame is dependent on each other?
I know that this information isn't needed at all lol, but it helps to understand
Thank you all very much for your help in advance
