Hi, I'm pretty new to Houdini. I'm trying to import a few models from the Sketchup 3D warehouse. For a majority of models that I tried, the import goes fine but I don't see anything in the model view. A few models do show up but even when they do, I can only edit parts of the model. I cannot even select the other parts.

Does anybody have similar or better experiences importing models from Sketchup? Are there any tricks to importing models correctly?

I've tried to do this a few times…
there are no tricks that I know of…just a pain in the ass…
and most of the models are kind crappy…be sure to look for as many different versions as you can, you might find a really good one.

maybe post the links to ones you're having trouble with?

What is the trick to importing a sketchup model using collada and getting the textures maps to translate into houdini? Whenever I try to import a collada model from sketchup, it seems like the materials aren't referencing the texture images properly. Here's a link to a sketchup model example that I've been attempting to import:

Have you tried going through FBX to see if that solves the problems?
