I found a puzzled problem.
after build a file,make some modify..then ,size of the file begin increasing.
at last ,because of the file's size ,i can't open the file.

why?
how to deal with it?

The most common reason for this is locking nodes in your scene with heavy/detailed geometry. This means Houdini saves the information describing the geo within the hip file itslef making it much larger.

Are you generating a lot of geometry and then locking the node? If so, try writing the geo out to disk and filing it back in via a file SOP at appropriate cut off points in your workflow.

If you have no locked nodes in your scene…hmm not sure..?!
