You can start out by reading Customer Stories at: http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=7&Itemid=68 [sidefx.com]
There are several there like Monsters vs. Aliens and possibly more. If you also go to Houdini In Film at: http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=44&Itemid=88 [sidefx.com] you will find a list of movies through the years that Houdini was used in. Houdini had a predecessor evolved into Houdini that was called Prisms and was used on such films as Flight of The Navigator and others mentioned in The Magic of Houdini (which is for version 8 but I find is still helpful).
Hope this helps as a starting point.

There was a brief article on fxguide on Digital Domain's work for percy and the lightning thief, that mentions they used it for the fire of the hydra (mixed with comp), probably more info in cinefex magazine.
Clash of the titans has got Houdini fluids in it. All the sand & dust for the scorpion sequences were done with houdini fluids. At some point there will hopefully be more info on this too.
Prince of Persia has got some houdini fluids in it as well. But not sure which sequences.
Also I would recommend asking on odforce as well.

@DJ, I looked at those stories already, I need fluid specific, and it's just hard to find anything. But I'll google those movies to see if I can dig up anything.
@Peter, thanks for the suggestions, I was able to find something. I was really surprised to not been able to find any case study or paper on Houdini fluids in movies. I would think that this is a big topic. Hopefully there will be more soon, especially with the new movies.

From a technical point of view my thesis might clarify a bit, but there is just not a lot of information in the sense of papers out there on houdini fluids - if you dig under the hood it is all based on the same knowledge base though:

http://www.peterclaes.be/tutorials/PeterClaesThesis/thesis/PeterClaesThesis.pdf [peterclaes.be]
I would recommend trying to contact some of the companies that work with houdini, perhaps contact some of the people. But the NDA is often a problem - still if you promise a bit of exposure for the company it might work.
Good luck! I am sure there are quite a lot of people interested in your findings.
