Hi, I am a new user who wants to learn Houdini … I have some questions to ask about installing it on Fedora 12_x64 but the in the system requirements i didn't find the version for this OS but only for Fedora Core 6… Many thz and sorry for my bad english i'm italian :wink:

Hi there,
the only two things you should take care is gcc version and architecture (32 or 64). Check out in shell: “gcc -v” for your distro's gcc version and install any houdini that matches it or below. 4.1 or 4.3 presumably (x64)

Ok, Apprentice site… most probably you can download red hat 5 distro.

Login and go here: https://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_download&Itemid=208 [sidefx.com] to choose among other builds and see gcc versioning.
