hi all..
Probably not a FAQ, but if a custom ROP outputs an image file how can it get the flipbook and/or Render View to display the image during the render?
thanks!

Pardon my ignorance, but I always thought of the ROP output was a way to efficiently render, meaning you don't waste memory with displaying each image as you render. Why would you want to show the image as it renders?!
Anyway, if instead of choosing to output a sequence of images to disk, you can just leave the output picture as “ip” and it will render to the Image Viewer and if you choose to you can export the rendered sequence to disk from the Image Viewer.
Cheers

Thanks Mark.. i think that is what i was looking for.
Rafaels - some people find ip useful for convenient, quick, iterative preview to polish up the image - typically at lower resolution. The intent isn't usually to watch each tile as it renders. For final render it often goes out to a farm.
