Hi, i´m trying to understand how can I illuminate my scene based on the fire of the pyrofx. I tried creating points and using them as geometry light but couldn't make it work. Also trying to use those points as photons but also failed. Is there a better workaround to do this? Thanks in advance!

Thanks to the video of Light Instancing by Peter Quint i could emit light from particles. Now im trying to generate particles only where fire exists, any suggestion?

You can convert your pyro volume in a geolight with a convert volume SOP.
But AFAIK, pyro emit light by default. Use PBR, setup diffuse light and volume light greater than 0. Use a GI light will increase quality and save rendering time.

If you're using pyro shader you can use scattering to generate point clouds, import those points as geometry and emit lights from them as you do with particles.

Tried both methods. In my case illuminating with the pyro shader (diff1 vol1) took a lot of time to render 1 frame.

I rendered the point clouds with the pyro shader, load the fire points, reduce them a little and added a Point SOP to instance a light template wich shader is a ASAD light. That did the job for me Thanks a lot guys for helping me in this one, i´m working on a personal project that im now more close to finish. Hope this post helps someone else also!

There is a volume light in the shelf tools that is used for lighting from pyro FX.
