Hi,

I'd like to view the surface depth plane created in the deep raster tab in COPs. Is it possible to view it like an alpha map or something?

Thanks

I think you need to click the ‘adapt to full pixel range’ button in the viewer.

I tried pressing that button but it just changes the viewer white. I'm guessing to try and find something to display and ending up with maximum brightness, cos nothing is there.

I want a depth map for each frame. Am I supposed to use Pz (surface depth)?

Also tried swithching it to 8 bit integer like the alpha channel…. no luck

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hmm.

I've been using a Render COP and bringing in the plane using the mantra driver.

I just tried rendering it to mplay and its worked. Instead of plane choices C,A and Pz. Theres C,A and Pz.pic.

Whats going on?

Cheers

in the file/plane name I was typing “Pz.pic”. I changed it to just “Pz” and it started working.

I'm still interested why this happened?

It's supposed to work that way - if you give it something like a path and an image file name, it will create a separate file with that layer in it. If you give it simply a name like “Depth” or “D”, it will embed it in the current image along with the other layers like RGBA.

Cheers,
