I'm trying to add SOP point velocities to an RBD sim, but midway through the sim, not on the first frame. I have the pieces being held in place with a glue constraint, and I want the point velocities to kick in at the moment that the glue constraint holding it in place is deleted.
I want something very similar to the “inherit point velocity” option in the the RBD object, but I want to do this on different frames for different RBD pieces. The RBD object seems to only accept the point velocities initially, on frame 1.
My thinking was that this could done by attaching a sopsolver and modifying the “v” point attribute, but this doesnt seem to do anything in terms of actually getting the geometry to physically move.
Anyone have advice on how to accomplish this? Thanks
