Why CPU runs only 20-25% when it is calculate simulation DOP objects?

My CPU is - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 2.50GHz
Work on Win7, Service Pack 1 (64bit)
RAM =16Gb

It could be that you're accessing a part of Houdini from your simulation that isn't multithreaded yet, or it could be due to Amdahl's law (Thanks, Marty!)

How do you think, if I change my OS on Linux it will work faster? Or nothing will change?

Linux will run the fastest from our experience.
