I've been playing with Houdini again for the first time in a while and I was just thinking that a mute button next to the re-arrange buttons in the various input operator lists (merge sop/chop. combine pop, etc.) would be mighty useful at times and save a lot of dis- and re-connecting. Has anyone else a RFE in for that already?
Best regards,
Fabian

It looks like there's an RFE from a bit over 16 years ago requesting it, (and another 12 years ago, and another 11 years ago), but feel free to submit another. It'll probably be marked as a duplicate, but the old report should be bumped up with an indication that another person requested it. It'd be great if you could list all of the SOPs/CHOPs/DOPs you'd like this functionality for, so that it doesn't just get half-done… if/when it ever gets addressed.
Writing code for fun and profit since... 2005? Wow, I'm getting old.

I'd think that it would have to be addressed at the base UI code level no? Lists of input operators turn up on basically any OP that takes multiple input or not?
I'll write it up and submit it at the end of the week when I have a minute. Anyone else with a +1 please leave it here and I will include a link to the thread.
Best regards,
Fabian

A couple other difficulties are that it also needs to be reliably saved in the HIP file, and that the data dependencies need to be handled appropriately, which is different for different contexts, (and sometimes within the same context, e.g. Switch SOP vs. Merge SOP). I certainly don't think they're insurmountable problems, but there's probably some reason it's evaded solution for so long when it'd be so handy.
