Hello I am using H14 Non Commercial Edition on Win 8.1 Intel 4600 graphics card. When I create object I cannot see the object in the viewport in the shaded view. When I turn on wireframes I can see it, but not when I turn on the shaded mode. Any solution to this ?

If you set the environment variable HOUDINI_OGL_DUMP_SHADER_ERRORS to 1, do you see any shader compilation errors dumped to the console?

No errors after setting the value to 1..

Actually I noticed that there is no option in Houdini 14 to set the OPEN GL version for the Scene Renderer. Earlier versions used to have this option in Prefs/ 3D Viewports/ Scene Renderer

May be its an OpenGL error. But having updated the Graphics driver also did not help

Thanks for trying that! You could also try an earlier driver, such as the one from October (15.36.7.64.3960). I was using that one before testing the newer 4061 driver (the one for the HD4000).

H14 only has a single viewport renderer (based off the H13 GL3 one) now that we've jumped to GL3 core.

I am also having the exact same issue on a Surface Pro 3 with an Intel HD4400.

Hello, I need help with the same problem - notebook Dell Latitude 3450 with Intel HD 5500.
HOUDINI_OGL_DUMP_SHADER_ERRORS - doesn't help.

P.s. On the image you can see a box and a sphere (Shaded Bounding Box mode)….well, some sort of it =\

P.P.s. So far only “Hidden Line Ghost” works.

I have intel 4600 on a Dell 3847

10.18.14.422

May 22 2015

On start the scene is black, I have to click on ‘animation’ or another tab
to see scene. Then only ‘hidden line ghost’ shows any shading, all else is
wireframe.

Here i am sharing some ideas with you that may be resolve your issue:
-Try to install latest driver version.
-Also make sure that the application/software that you are using should be updated.
-Restart your laptop and try again later.
If still issue exits then take support from Dell Latitude 3450 Manual- guideusermanual.com/product-name-latitude-3450-manual&po=344601&lang=English
