I am a beginner in Houdini. I am trying to build some 3D model with houdini's procedural approach. I am just wondering if there is any way I can control teh number of “end caps” for a “tube” sop (instead of just on and off)?
Also, how would people make bevel of the 3d geometry in Houdini?

Feed the tube SOP into a cap SOP (make sure End Caps are not clicked on in the tube SOP). In the cap SOP, play with the division parameter. If you want the cap to be flat then set the scale to 0.

There are two main ways to bevel geometry in Houdini.
The polybevel sop and the extrude sop.
When using polybevel you need to select the edges that you want to bevel from an existing 3d model - like a box - using the viewport selection tools.
When using extrude you make a 2d shape - like text - and wire a profile into the second input. The profile is basically an open line that defines the angle of the bevel - a straight line with a kink in it.

The trick is finding just the right hammer for every screw
